Teams-/Job description

A/V Trolle kümmern sich um den A/V Betrieb in Vortragssälen. Du und die anderen Trolle kümmern sich um das Audio Mischen, und bedienen die Kameras und die Videomixer. Du unterstützt die Speaker indem du deren Laptops an das Equipment anschließt und die Mikrofone passend einstellst.

Wenn du dich ums Audio kümmerst, dann mixt du die verschiedenen Quellen zusammen, überwachst das Ausgangssignal und passt die Level für den Stream an. Zudem kontrollierst du die verschienen Mikrofone im Saal. Das Ziel deiner Arbeit ist, dass die Audiolevel konsistent und für Zuhörende angenehm sind.

Wenn du dich ums Video kümmerst, dann wechselst du zwischen den verschiedenen Eingangssignalen hin und her. Dieser gemixte Videofeed wird sowohl im Livestream, als auch im Recording, später, zu sehen sein. Somit entscheidest du welche Bilder, aus welcher Quelle, in jedem Moment am interessantesten sind.

Da wir keinen Stream haben wollen, der nur aus Slides besteht, werden auch Kameras bedient, die dann auch die Speaker und nicht die Zuschauer*innen filmen. Sollte es mal nicht möglich sein, dass die Kameras durch einen Troll bedient werden, dann kann auch ein fester Shot aufs Rednerpult genutzt werden.

Für einen Talk sollten stets mehr als ein einzelner Troll anwesend sein. Dies ermöglicht es die einzelnen Rollen unter euch aufzuteilen.

A/V Trolls are responsible for the whole A/V Operation in a hall. You and your fellow trolls operate the audio mixing desk lighting console, cameras and the video mixer. You support speakers by connecting their hardware the infrastructure in the hall and adjust the microphones.

The audio part is about mixing the different sources and taking care of monitoring and adjusting audio levels for the stream. To have some audio sources, you also manage the micrphones in the hall. The goal of this job is to ensure that the audio levels are consistent and the resulting mix down is pleasant to the ears.

If you are responsible for the operation of the video mixer, you switch the video feed between different sources. This mixed video feed is used for both the live-stream and the recordings which are made available later. You decide which picture, respectively source, is most interesting/important at each moment.

Doing Video without cameras would result in a slide only stream, so someone has to ensure records the person who is giving the talk instead of the audience. If it's impossible to operate the camera during the whole talk, usually a fixed shot is fine too.

During a talk, there should be more than one A/V Troll so you can split up the various parts of this job between you and your fellow trolls.

This group of people is responsible for the smooth operation of the C3VOC infrastructure itself, e.g. cutting and releasing the talks, poking the streams and much more. Basically, they resolve all those issues, that nobody notices ;)

Als erfahrener Troll bist du für Aufgaben wie Beaufsichtigen der Kasse und mehr verantwortlich. Außerdem bist du Ansprechpartner*in für Wesen mit weniger Erfahrung, die mit dir Schicht haben.

As an experienced troll you are responsible for tasks like supervising the cash register and more. You are also the contact person for creatures with less experience who are on shift with you.

Du übernimmst aktuelle öffentliche Ankündigungen, führst kurz in das anstehende Vortragsthema ein, stellst die vortragende Person vor und moderieren im Anschluss an den Vortrag das Q&A. Das Ganze findet je nach Vortragssprache auf Deutsch oder auf Englisch statt.
Heralding erfordert ein bisschen Vorbereitung und Improvisationskunst, macht aber sehr viel Spaß. Wenn Du Dich auf der Bühne ausprobieren möchtest, ohne gleich einen ganzen Talk zu halten, werde Herald!

You take over current public announcements, briefly introduce the upcoming presentation topic, introduce the speaker and moderate the Q&A after the presentation. The whole thing takes place in German or in English, depending on the language of the presentation.
Heralding requires a bit of preparation and improvisation, but is a lot of fun. If you want to try yourself on stage without giving a whole talk, become a Herald!
